Adipurush is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language epic action film directed by Om Raut and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut and Prasad Sutar under the banners of T-Series Films and Retrograde Studios. The film stars Prabhas as Raghava (Lord Rama), Kriti Sanon as Janaki (Sita), Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh (Ravana), Sunny Singh as Shesh (Lakshmana), and Devdatta Nage as Hanuman. It is a screen adaptation of the Hindu epic Ramayana.
The film begins with Raghava, the prince of Ayodhya, being exiled to the forest for 14 years by his stepmother, Kaikeyi. He is accompanied by his wife, Janaki, and brother, Shesh. One day, Janaki is kidnapped by Lankesh, the king of Lanka. Raghava and Shesh set out to rescue her, and they are joined by Hanuman, the monkey god.
The film follows Raghava's journey as he battles Lankesh and his army of demons. In the end, Raghava defeats Lankesh and rescues Janaki. He then returns to Ayodhya and is crowned king.
